I had fun with at 2009.5 Pontiac G8GT today on the dyno. This was the L76 with the GXP E38 PCM. Put the car on the dyno and it dynoed 294 rwhp bone stock. Installed the AFE air intake and picked up an additional 10 rwhp and 10 ft-lbs with no tuning. After full tuning, the G8 finshed with 324 rwhp and a nice increase in midrange torque. Took the G8 on the street, with the owner, and it was a whole new car. The car is much more responsive and he could feel a difference. The A6 was tuned as well and that added to tune fun as well. The AF's need some adjustment and the car was picking up KR even in stock form. The KR is gone with several tweaks and headers are next on the mod list:)

Funny because I was looking at that same intake for ours. Once I get this damned TBSS back together, I might have you tweak up on the G8 after some intake/exhaust mods

If I can get my finances back into shape I would gladly have a G8 in my driveway!

These G8's are fun to work on and tons of room around the engine. I did another one on Friday and installed Kooks 1 7/8" Headers and a 3" Catted X-Pipe. The car dynoed 313 rwhp and had a K&N CAI / Magnaflow Mufflers. After the Exhaust and SLP Underdrive Pulley were installed, the G8 dynoed 351/374. The A6 was tweaked and it is a completely different car. I might have to consider one for a daily driver:)

Awesome! I've heard that if you are going to keep the stock TC and rear end ratio, that the Livernois kit is one of the best out there and still gets you some pretty damn good power. I'd be very interested to hear the results.

Now see, you told me you were a Kooks reseller but you didn't mention being a Livernois dealer :)

Btw, car in the original post is mine and yes, I can vouch for the results. Once I find a way to punch through my wife's furniture budget it's going to be "go" time. I'll do headers next then decide where to from there... keep up the good work, Brian!

Should I be looking into Livernois heads now that you are a dealer for them or stick with Patroit/PRC. Hmmm.... Decisions, decisions...

Well, I know there's ~$500 price difference, and it kinda depends on the compression ratio jump. I was thinking of going with larger intake/exhaust valves for future purposes. We've talked before and I'd like to keep it below 11.... say 10.5:1.

Since you've had experience with Patriots before and now you'll be getting some first hand experience with Livernois, maybe there'll be more light shed on the subject over the next few months. I actually have a spreadsheet made up comparing the flow rates for these three vendors, lol.

Of course, first thing's first. I need to get that damn torque converter purchased and put in!
