...and I'm sure there will be plenty :eek3:

Not everything is in place yet, but things critical to the site should be working properly.

The PM system is totally different now, and although you can still access your old PMs, you'll need to create a new "conversation" in order to send new ones.

Unless I missed it, there is no "view new post" link.

EDIT: Found it. It's now called "View New Content"

Thanks

Yeah the built-in portal sucks bad. I'm going to disable it for now while I install another one.

I feel the old site was pretty streamlined, this one has lot of bells and whistles that clutter it up. This isn't bad, some of the new features rock, I'm just learning how to hide and turn off things.

My only request is a basic skin that makes it very obvious as to which section has new posts, some of them use a slightly greyer shade to indicate new posts. I think I was using the blue skin before, it was pretty good like that.

Well the Default skin is unfortunately the worst  But I think it's important to keep it as the default one because it matches the fliers... looks better for new folks to have the site match the print collateral. Try some of the other skins... they are better :eek3:

I am going to keep working on the Default one to improve it. Believe it or not I've already done a ton of work to it. You should have seen it stock, it was practically unusable...

I guess my request then is to make the "read" and "unread" icons very visibly different, not the same color and a shade darker. When I do a quick skim of the forums, if the icons look the same I just go meh and close the window. Right now I'm using the view new content link and that's making life easier.

I find the home page useless.

Just sayin.

I need a centralized place to post announcements that will be seen by all. Also, some people do read those articles I post every 6 months....

Then please just make the top image direct to the forum index, that's how it was before.

might want to fix this link:
http://www.afbforums...rch&CODE=getnew

so it points to:
http://www.afbforums...arch_filter_app[forums]=1

This is for anyone who had "view new posts" bookmarked, right now it tells you the site is down for maintenance, which obviously, it is not.

I've updated my bookmark, but I'm sure there are others who used the same link.

Beat that, data center FTW (recently updated)

Fast reply buttons, blank space and icons are random and out of place on each skin. Basically everything under the topic.

Using SlimBrowser (IE)

I dont know if everyone else does this, but I just use the "View New Content" option to read threads. If I click on a thread and then try to hit the back button to go back to the list again, it gives me a "Webpage has expired" message and i have to refresh. Old AFB never did that and I only noticed this doing this in the last couple hours so I'm not sure if it was doing it earlier today or not.

Haha... I think the "viewed" counts are updated every hour, but the replies are instant.

I'll check out the button issue.
