I haven't personally, but I would assume it's the same as a basic LS based motor. It's just has a taller intake manifold that wil not fit under a stock F-body hood. The accessory's on the front are laid out very similar to a Vette wit the alt on top and the power steering on the bottom which is vise-versa of the F-body. I would also assume the oil pan would differ slightly, but I have no idea it would work.

Like Joe said, the LQ9 longblock has the exact same external dimensions as the LS1. The accessories that originally came with it are different than the LS1, and wont fit an f-body. aside from different locations, they also stick out farther, because the trucks used mechanical fans for the majority of the engine.

I believe the T56 has issues w/ the 2000 LQ9 cranks since the length is diffrent. All others should be fine. I'm mating my T56 behind my 2003 6.0 here in a few weeks so we'll see.
Doesn't matter what I've had in the past. You only need to worry about the car I have now.

Yes it will. Just make sure there is not crank spacer on the end of the crank. It will be hard to see, but you will be able to see a hairline crack where it seperates with a hammer and chisel

LQ9 Didn't come out until 2002. The only difference between the lq9 and lq4 is the racing flat top pistons the lq9 has. They both are 6.0 blocks with 317 heads. You will just need to change the water pump, accessories and intake manifold. So if you have just the short block then you will be good to go. Here is a pic of the pistons in a lq9

It also is the iron block. In my opinion you should try and get the ls2 6.0 its all alum. But if your heart is set on the lq9 go for it, its a great motor.

I have heard issues with the crank being too long...but I think that was with older blocks. If you get an LQ9, go with a 2001 or higher year. The oiling is much better in the newer blocks. I'm pretty sure everything will bolt up to the LQ9 (trans/ls1heads, etc)

and one time at band camp....... if you look at the dyno numbers we did this weekend. one of the guys brought a truck with a lq9. that sounds like what you want to do. I think.

May be still a spammer, but I will give him a chance to redeem himself.
