I'm still gonna go see it, but based on a ton of reviews it's not what I had hoped it would be. I'm not saying it sucks...I haven't seen it yet, but i'm just not as amped up about it.
I'm sure it'll rock.
We'll I would caution you on reading the reviews. From what I have read it's either hate it or love it. It's either A or F and alot of the bad reviews come from people that apparently get motion sickness easy or need everything spelled out for them.
It's not like that. It's about 4 people trying to survive and follow the main character as he tries to save his ex and the woman he loves.
At yahoo movies the 11 critics gave it a a solid B rating. Which for a monster movie is practically unheard of and the people that have watched the movie and have rated it gave it a B- and that's after 5,000 reviews. It's rare and very rare that the critics and viewers agree and on a movie like this ever. The last movie to get that would be Transformers.
The Fandango reviews I read from moviegoers was much more positive.
If you read the negative reviews only then yeah you will have a jaded view when you go and see it.
I just say that you go into this movie with an open mind I'd bet you like it.
And keep in mind that it was made with a low budget and from selling it to the producers without a script and writing and making the film in a short time is even more impressive. Not to mention the impressive marketing.
And which I mentioned before that the writer was shooting for a hard R rating but the studios shot it down for a PG13.
Which is typical now because PG13 makes alot and I mean alot more than a rough R movie. The original was shot donw for being too brutal.
It's the economics of what you want to make vs what you are allowed to make.
You can listen to those assholes or listen to me and go in with an open mind and have fun with it.
